Amber Vittoria: Classy Duds Collabo

By Brett McKenzie on Nov 27, 2017

Young Guns 15 winner reimagines the female form

Fresh off of her induction into Young Guns 15 the other week — and just in time for Cyber Monday — New York-based illustrator Amber Vittoria has teamed up with Classy Duds to produce a series of T-shirts based on famous pieces of art... but with a twist.

"Throughout recent art history, the majority of women within pieces are depicted by male painters as sexual, maternal, or a stereotype of the like," says Amber. "As gender becomes progressively more fluid, I have personally felt empowered to break the trope of an ‘ideal physical female.’"

For this collaboration, Amber reimagined three famous pieces of women depicted by male artists while utilizing Classy Duds' iconography (such as cigarettes, beer, and high fashion) to further her narrative of the female form.
