Yang Yeo

J Walter Thompson

Shanghai

Yang has been in China for 18 months. All this time he feels like he is in Jackie Chan’s wild western movie "Shanghai Noon", except that the real Shanghai is even more over-the-top. And this is the China that inspires and energizes Yang. It's the most exciting time to be in this crazy cowboy town. "China is the last frontier, it's a nation in a hurry and desperate for attention and success. They have the muscle and resources, and most of all, guts and ambition, to the point of being reckless at times. But it's exactly in this madness, where the creative community find themselves presented with real opportunities to create something out of this world. Take a look at the Beijing Olympic stadium by Herzog & de Meuron, it's outrageously brilliant!" Within the first year in Shanghai, Campaign Brief Asia named Yang as one of the top Creative Directors who are shaping creativity in China. He was featured in a leading US creative magazine Creativity as one of the advertising stars in Asia. Also, Yang constantly features in various Creative and Effectiveness Award judging panels from around the world. Before moving to China, Yang was Founding Managing Partner and Creative Director of Fallon Asia, running both the Singapore and Hong Kong offices from 2001 to 2006. Yang also spent six years with BBH, split equally between the Singapore and London offices. He began his advertising career in 1991 with Saatchi & Saatchi in Singapore, and was Group Executive Creative Director with TBWA in Shanghai where he led the Beijing Olympics Campaign for Adidas.
