Colin Nissan

Freelance

New York

Colin began his career as an assistant account manager at Mullen Advertising in Boston, where he spent several hours a day clipping competitive BMW ads out of magazines and placing them into a really nice laminated binder which no one ever looked at. One night after everyone went home, Colin put his scissors down and started writing ads. He didn't stop until they hired him as a copywriter. After moving on to Clarke Goward Advertising in Boston for a couple of years, Colin heard the great winds of the west calling him. Actually it was Sean Farrell calling him, his old partner from Boston who had moved out there a year earlier. Soon after, Colin accepted a job at Goodby, Silverstein and Partners where he remained for six years. His work for Got Milk, SBC/Pacific Bell, AT&T Wireless, Etrade and Discover Card, among many others, has earned Colin numerous distinctions including Cannes, Clios, Andys, One Shows, Effies, Communication Arts, AICPs, Archives, Athenas, Ad Age's Campaign of the Year & Creativity Magazine's Spot of the Year. Two years ago, Colin left Goodby to pursue a freelance career. Today he enjoys working at shops all over the country and continues to help win awards and new business. In his newly found free time, Colin likes to get married, and write things besides ads. His first book is coming out in the summer. You should buy it. Honestly, it would be kind of lame if you didn't.
