Carolyn Hinkson-Jenkins is Director of Operations of the undergraduate departments in Advertising, Cartooning, Design, and Illustration at the School of Visual Arts. In her capacity as Director of Operations, Ms. Hinkson-Jenkins manages the overall business affairs for these departments, in addition to curriculum coordination for 300 courses, 300 faculty members, and more than 1,500 students each year. Ms. Hinkson-Jenkins has evaluated thousands of student portfolios for end-of-year reviews, as well as for department scholarships and competitions. Recently she served as In-Residence Coordinator for the School of Visual Arts summer programs in Istanbul, Turkey, and Southern France. Ms. Hinkson-Jenkins is one of two recipients to receive the first Distinguished Staff Award from the School of Visual Arts. Her degrees include MSEd in Higher Education Administration from Baruch College and a BA from Hunter College.

She is a member of the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, One Club for Art and Copy, and the National Association of African American Women. She is a doodler of art on calendars, and her work appears in Sharpee Art Workshop by Timothy Goodman.

Ms. Hinkson-Jenkins gives of her time generously for the coordination of various events and design projects for St. Paul Baptist Church in Montclair, New Jersey, and is a member of the Mass Choir for the church. She particularly enjoys participating in the Baroque Chorale’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah that has performed in several venues in the Montclair area.
