Sibylla Brodzinsky is a Public Information Officer, specializing in Spanish-language news media and communications at UNHCR's Regional Office in Washington. Sibylla recently moved to Washington from Bogota, Colombia where she was the correspondent for The Economist and The Guardian, as well as a regular contributor to a number of other publications during her 18 years there. A seasoned field reporter, Sibylla reorted on situations of armed conflict and forced displacement in Colombia, Venezuela and Central America. She has also worked and lived in Venezuela, Chile, France and the Dominican Republic. Sibylla is co-editor of "Throwing Stones at the Moon" (McSweeney's, 2012), a compilation of oral histories of Colombians displaced by violence. Sibylla has a degree in journalism and political science from Syracuse University and studied international relations at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Internationales in Paris.
