Culture today moves at an astonishing speed, driven by trends, events, and viral moments that can emerge and evolve in the blink of an eye. To stay relevant and resonate with their audiences, brands must keep pace with these shifts in culture and consumer trends, which requires thinking about culture differently and mobilizing in a new way. The Review 2020 RESCHEDULED
The One Club Denver and Denver Ad School have teamed up to give students real feedback from real agency pros in a new kind of portfolio review unlike any other. You’ll be grouped with 5 other students of the same discipline — copywriting, art direction, and design — along with a working agency professional from some of the top shops in Denver and Boulder. Leave the physical portfolio books at home, because you’ll be presenting your work just like you would in an agency — either on the screen via your laptop or pinning work up on the walls old-school style. Then, the ad agency pro leading your session will dive deep into your portfolio and lead the group in a working session to identify what’s working, what could be improved, and give you actionable insights on how to make those changes right there in the room. You’ll feel what it’s like to present your work in an agency setting, get some practice giving feedback to other people’s work, and best of all you’ll leave with a better book. Plus, at the end of the event we’ll give away cash prizes for Best Copywriting, Best Design, and Best Idea. 2020 Paper Fashion Show Call For Designers CLOSES FEB 1
REGISTER YOUR TEAM Sign up today to design a haute couture paper fashion for the 2020 Paper Fashion Show! The Paper Fashion Show shines light on Denver talent and features haute couture fashions made entirely from paper that are showcased on the grand runway and judged by an esteemed panel of top Denver-area designers and celebrities. The runway show is on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at The Fillmore Auditorium. NOTE: Tickets to attend the show will go on sale January 2020 at paperfashionshow.com. This event registration is to sign up to design a fashion.   2020 Theme: “CHIAROSCURO” By definition, it is bold contrasts of light and dark that builds a composition. Opposites working in harmony to create something the other couldn’t do alone. One cannot be defined without the other, but it is more than one being the absence of the other. It is conflict and it is balance. It is creation and it is nothingness. It is ignorance and it is knowledge. It is discovery and it is mystery. It is fear and it is safety. Where will you find yourself, in the light or in the dark? Designers, your challenge is to develop half of the composition, find your light or embrace your darkness. Teams will register to design for the light or design for the dark. Once you’ve chosen your aspect, how will you define it? How will you blend haute couture fashion with fantasy and imagination to bring out the light or to embrace the dark? Together with the other designers we will create CHIAROSCURO.   How It Works Each team designs one (1) unique fashion to be presented on the runway. Designs may be for men or women and are not limited to dresses. Paper is provided by Spicers Paper and the paper mills they represent at no charge and can be written on, printed on, painted on, dyed, manipulated, etc. Binding techniques such as sewing, glue, tape, and wire are allowed. Teams may use their own model or you may use one of our professional models for free (highly suggested). Fashions must abide by the 90% paper rule to be eligible for competition. A panel of judges will judge each fashion and category winners will be recognized with individual recognition, followed by trophies also constructed of paper. Design teams will be provided with guidelines and judging criteria.   What’s Included Included in the team registration is: Two tickets to the show, held April 30th, 2020 at the Fillmore Auditorium, in the reserved Design Team area with private bar and backstage access (additional team members will need to purchase tickets when ticket sales open) High quality paper of your choice from Spicers Papers and the mills they carry Complimentary professional model (or you may provide your own) Complimentary hair and make up for your model Professional photograph of your fashion Access to private forum with other design teams that includes: important information and deadlines plus tips and tricks from past designers. Teams can post questions for other designers as well as the Paper Fashion Show team.   More information about The Paper Fashion Show can be found at paperfashionshow.com

Paper Fashion Show Call For Designers Friday, March 23rd, 2018
The ONE Club for Creativity - Denver is pleased to announce registration for our highly anticipated spring 2018 Paper Fashion Show — supporting cutting-edge, Colorado-made creative work, and our friends at DAVA. Now, in its 14th year, The ONE Paper Fashion Show shines light on Denver talent and is now part of 303 Magazine's Denver Fashion Week , March 18 -25th, a week dedicated to Denver's fashion industry and influencers. Since 2005, over 500 paper fashions have been created and consequently viewed by thousands of curious, enthusiastic observers—there to celebrate this beloved art medium. Registration opens Monday, October 16th, 2017 through Saturday December 16th. Stretch your already outstanding design chops. Show your skills under main stage lights. Contribute to a worthy cause. Enter to win the The ONE Club for Creativity - Denver's spring 2018 Paper Fashion Show, today. WHAT IS THE PAPER FASHION SHOW? Designers create fashions from paper donated by paper mills and coordinated by Spicers Paper. These fashions are showcased at our grand runway show and voted on by a panel of judges. Category winners will be recognized with individual recognition, followed by trophies also constructed of paper. This all-volunteer organized and ran event, helps support not only our mission to elevate Denver art and design to the national level but also non-profit Downtown Aurora Visual Arts , a local community organization that provides after-school arts programs for at-risk youth. Combining art and technology, DAVA programs emphasize innovation, problem-solving, and connection to community. While arts education can connect to careers in the arts, at DAVA they do much more. Their unique approach results in students not only gaining skills in art, but also valuable education, job, and social skills in preparation for a wide range of life aspirations. From the beginning, The Paper Fashion Show has been a part of DAVA’s curriculum. Students ages 7 to 17 research ideas, learn to draw figures, think about design, colors and patterns to create their fashions. These students learn to problem solve and to work on a team while gaining leadership skills and real world experience by participating in a professional event. At the show, DAVA students work alongside professional designers and creators, see their fashions walk the runway and even participate as judges. Since the Paper Fashion Show’s™ inception The One Club for Creativity - Denver has donated over $45,000 to DAVA.   HOW IT WORKS Each team designs one (1) unique fashion to be presented on the runway. If your concept utilizes more than one model, you will need to sign up for additional teams. Designs may be for men or women and are not limited to dresses. An open call for models will take place in January 2018. Each design team will be invited to this event but will be able to use their own model if desired. There is no cost to the design teams for using our professional models. It is however, HIGHLY recommended to use a professional model, as the fashions are typically presented on the runway in a more professional manner to the judges and in photographs. Complimentary hair and makeup services for models are also provided on the day of the event.   SUGGESTED THEME Founded in 1955 as a local non-profit organization, the Art Directors Club of Denver became a chapter of The ONE Club for Creativity in July 2017.
