Nike Garners "Best in Show" and "Client of the Year"

NEW YORK, NY (May 11, 2007) —One Show Interactive, the interactive advertising industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony worldwide, announced the winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils earlier this evening, May 11th at New York’s Skylight Studios. The One Show Interactive awards, produced by the non-profit organization The One Club, celebrated the year’s best international new media and web design. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of One Show Interactive, a showcase of the best of the decade took place at the ceremony.

Top honors for "Best in Show" went to R/GA agency for its Branded Application and website "Nike+" for client Nike. In a unique partnership, Nike and Apple created a cross platform application and experience for consumers through their website. Utilizing a specially designed chip made to fit a pair of Nike sneakers, visitors to the site were able to download information to and from their Apple iPods to plan a complete workout experience, from mapping a running course using Google maps to coordinating music with a tempo that mirrors the intensity of the workout and review the results.

"Through this campaign Nike+ has essentially fulfilled the great promise of the internet as a collaborative tool—blending technology with product design—allowing consumers to engage in a total multimedia experience," said Kevin Swanepoel, President, The One Club.

Nike was also named as the 2007 Client of the Year due to their re-emergence as a leader in creative advertising. This year Nike has been a champion of good creative work generated from many different agencies across as many countries.

"We are excited to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of One Show Interactive," said Mary Warlick, CEO, The One Club. "Our long standing passion for recognizing good creative work within new media and web design was evidenced with the creation of this awards program in 1997."

The top Pencil winners at this year’s One Show Interactive include:

Crispin Porter + Bogusky: Total 7 (3 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze)
Farfar: 4 Total (1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze)
R/GA: 4 Total (2 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze)
AKQA: 3 Total (2 Silver, 1 Bronze)
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners: 3 Total (2 Silver, 1 Bronze)

Winners and finalists will be featured in the commemorative One Show Interactive Annual, which will be released this year.
