36TH Annual One Show Awards Ceremony Salutes Outstanding Advertising from Around the World

The One Club announced the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencil winners this evening at the 36th Annual One Show. The ceremony, which took place at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, honored the year’s finest achievements in print, television, radio, outdoor, innovative marketing, integrated branding and branded content.

More than 600 advertising professional and guests celebrated the winners at the gala event produced by The One Club, the world’s foremost non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing excellence in advertising and design. Celebrities and VIP’s from the world of advertising, film, television and media were on-hand to present the awards – including Isaiah Mustafa (Old Spice), Zachary Booth (Damages), Heather Burns (Bored to Death), Barbara Lippert (Goodby, Silverstein & Partners), Jimmy Smith (TBWA ChiatDay/Los Angeles) , Neal Shapiro (PBS), Jim Douglas & Kim Berk (Fresh 102.7), John Norman (The Martin Agency), Lance Martin (Taxi), Steve Mykolyn (Taxi 2), Tham Khai Meng (Oglivy), David Lubars (BBDO), Kevin Swanepoel (President, The One Club) and Mary Warlick (CEO, The One Club).

"There was a real hint of a boost in the economy shown in healthy spending for big commercials such as Nike's ‘Write the Future,’” said Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club. "The One Show winners prove that the industry continues to move forward. Marketers were also extending the brand beyond the TV screen in work such as the Old Spice Response campaign and Gatorade Replay, both of which gave consumers the opportunity to participate."

“Best of Show” was presented to Wieden+Kennedy London for the Nike cinema spot and consumer TV winner, “Write the Future.”

  • Old Spice (various campaigns) Wieden+Kennedy – 4 Gold Pencils, 1 Bronze Pencil
  • Gatorade “REPLAY” TBWA Chiat Day – 3 Gold Pencils
  • Bing with Jay-Z “Decode Jay-Z with Bing” Droga5 – 2 Gold Pencils
  • WWF “Save as WWF” Jung von Matt – 2 Gold Pencils

**A complete list of the 2011 One Show Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencil winners and finalist entries (including agency and award title) can be found as of 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 12th at www.oneclub.org.

Winners and finalists will be featured in the commemorative One Show Annual, which will be released later this year.

The 36th Annual One Show was the centerpiece of Creative Week NYC taking place in New York City from May 9 to May 15, 2011. Creative Week is a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and the arts. The One Club and the Creative Week Board of Advisors invite all organizations involved in the creative life of New York City.
