One Show Interactive Honors the Best in New Media Advertising

The One Club, the world’s foremost non-profit organization devoted to elevating creative work in the advertising industry awarded the best in new media and digital advertising this evening at the 13th Annual One Show Interactive Awards this evening at Terminal 5 in New York City. One Show Interactive awards the best in digital advertising that reflects the trends and shape of the ever-expanding digital landscape.

One Show Interactive wraps-up the One Show’s Creative Week New York, a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and all the arts that feed and touch those disciplines. Officially declared, by the Honorable Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Creative Week New York included the One Show Festival, featuring the unConference, the Master Class series, One Show Design and the world renowned One Show. “We have seen a dramatic increase of digital work being created and entered,” said Kevin Swanepoel, President at The One Club. “More importantly the quality of the work and creative thinking is deeper and more integrated in whole campaigns.”

Finalists at One Show Interactive compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils in a variety of categories.Presenters at this year’s ceremony, which is produced by The One Club, include: Alessandra Lariu, co-founder of SheSays; Anders Gustafsson, Director & CEO, Zebra Technologies Corporation; Faris Yakob, Chief Innovation Officer MDC Partners; Karen Monahan, Director of Interactive Production, W+K New York; Natalie Lam, Creative Director, OgilvyOne Shanghai; Nick Law, EVP, Chief Creative Officer, North America, R/GA; Nicke Bergstrom, Creative Director, Mother New York; and Rei Inamoto, Global Creative Director, AKQA.

At the event, The One Club also announced that Benjamin Palmer from The Barbarian Group will act as Jury Chair for the One Show Interactive 2012 Jury. One Show Interactive will open the first quarter of the unique quarterly entry system next week, leading the industry by recognizing the best digital work while it is fresh and relevant.

One Show Interactive’s Best of Show was awarded to the Old Spice Response Campaign, which consisted of 186 personalized YouTube response videos to Old Spice fans who commented on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Digg, 4chan and other sites. The campaign pushes the boundaries of what it means to be “interactive” and because an internet sensation, generating over 52 million views on YouTube. Isaiah Mustafa, who stars in the Old Spice campaign was on-hand to accept the award.

“We’re super excited to be recognized by the One Show for our interactive work and very proud of the whole W+K Old Spice team and our gutsy Old Spice client for letting us try something that had never been done before.
