NEW YORK, NY (May 7, 2009) — The 2009 One Show College Competition, the premiere international student awards competition in advertising, interactive and design, announced the winners of the coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils at a ceremony at Helen Mills, 139 West 26th Street in New York. The student awards, produced by the non-profit organization The One Club, awarded 21 Pencils, judged by the same elite international jury of art directors, copywriters, designers and creative directors who judge the One Show, One Show Design and One Show Interactive.

This year, students from 107 colleges and universities in 21 countries submitted over 2000 pieces to compete in eight categories including advertising, design and interactive -- for the Long\'s Horseradish brand. "Many students who have entered and won One Show Pencils have gone on to incredible careers in the industry," said Mary Warlick, Chief Executive Officer of The One Club. "For the first time, we gave students the opportunity to create work for a family owned packaged food brand."

The One Club also named Jake Dubs from Virginia Commonwealth University as the recipient of the 12th Annual Patrick Kelly Scholarship award based on the merits of his application, portfolio and glowing teacher recommendations. The scholarship fund was established by Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners, New York, in honor of the late Patrick Kelly, award-winning copywriter and commercial director.
