NEW YORK, NY (May 10, 2006) - One Show Interactive, the most prestigious competition for new media and online advertising will award Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils to work from over 33 countries worldwide, on May 12th at Skylight Studios in New York City.

Hosted by The One Club, the foremost organization for recognizing and promoting creative excellence, the ceremony will reward advertising's best work in new media, including Web sites, banners, brand gaming, wireless and integrated branding.

One Show Interactive has seen a 40 percent increase in entries from last year. The competition is highly regarded by professionals in the new media industry for showcasing new ideas in international work and focusing on creative concept. This year's awards gala will present a Creative Lab, which features the judges' favorite online work, web links and viral videos. This new element in the ceremony will precede the awards presentation.

"One Show Interactive is more than an annual awards show," said Marketing and Interactive Director Kevin Swanepoel of The One Club. "It's an opportunity to experience the best interactive work in the world. Particularly for a 'traditional' advertising person it offers a rare opportunity to be immersed in interactive media."

The 2006 One Show Interactive features several new categories-"Viral and Email" and "Online Mini Movies" --reflecting the industry's evolution in this dynamic field. As clients and agencies continue to find new ways to communicate, One Show Interactive and its jury evaluate their efforts.

The 2006 jury consisted of an elite panel of 32 judges from nine countries. Members of this prestigious group of award-winning new media experts included jury chairman, Jeff Benjamin of Cripsin Porter + Bogusky; Florian Heiss of Dare Digital, London; Mauricio Mazzariol of DM9DDB, Sao Paolo; Rei Inamoto. AKQA, San Francisico and Vicki Wong, Meomi, Toronto.

Major contenders for top awards include Nike, Burger King, Altoids, Ikea, BMW Mini Cooper and Playstation. Nike and Burger King have garnered top honors in previous award shows.

Winners in all One Show awards competitions receive Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils, considered the premier achievement in the advertising industry. All Pencil and Merit winners are published in One Show Interactive --- Advertising's Best Interactive and New Media, an essential reference for both creative agencies and clients.
