Fernanda Romano, 32, was born in São Paulo, Brasil and has a degree in Business Management with emphasis in Public Administration by EAESP – Fundação Getúlio Vargas. She started her life in advertising at Carillo, Pastore EURO RSCG in São Paulo and has worked for several Internet companies such as Parlo.com, Starmedia, Tantofaz.net (Loquesea Inc.) and iBest. Fernanda joined DM9DDB in 2002 as Director of Interactive Communications and was made Director of Other Medias and Special Projects in the end of 2004, overseeing a team of 32 people, including creative and production with the main task of driving creative integration between all mediums for the agency's clients. Fernanda taught Interactive Creative Concepts at the Miami Ad School/ESPM São Paulo and Interactive Communications at the MBA in Communication of ESPM São Paulo and writes weekly for BlueBus.com.br—a newswire specialized in the advertising industry. She is one of the writers featured on the book E-dicas, a more sensitive vision of the New Economy, edited by Câmara e-Net and also has a column at another TV Show, Qual é a Boa? (Multishow/Globosat), currently produced in NY, where she is a talking head for new technologies and the connected society. Fernanda also had a daily column in Radio Bandeirantes FM in São Paulo, where she sometimes still collaborates in events such as the Cannes Ad Festival commenting on results. In a little over ten years of marketing/advertising experience, she has accumulated a lot of experience in several product categories and won several awards. She was a member of the jury of the CCSP-Brazil on 2003 and 2005, the LIAA on 2004, the One Show Interactive and London Advertising Awards in 2005. Her team won three Cannes CyberLions in 2004 with works for TAM, Telefonica and Itaú Seguros; seven Cannes CyberLions in 2005, the Cannes CyberLions Grand Prix in 2005 and DM9DDB won Interactive Agency of the Year in the Festival. Other awards include the NY Festivals GP, Andys, medals in the CCSP-Brazil, two pencils in One Show Interactive 2006 and Merits in the One Show Interactive 2005. She joined Lowe NY as Executive Creative Director in December 2005 and has since been working on campaigns for several clients, such as Nokia NSeries, Milk PEP, Saab USA, Earthlink and Unilever, among others.
