Cliff Freeman & Partners

New York

President, Executive Creative Director A native New Yorker, Arthur grew up being frequently reminded that his grandfather was the genius who invented Father's Day as a way to sell cigars. So, with that inspiration and advertising irrefutably in his blood, Arthur started his career at Dancer Fitzgerald Sample where he became the youngest Creative Director in the agency's 40-year history. There, he created award-winning campaigns for clients including Wendy's, Peter Paul Cadbury and Philips Lighting. Advertising Age magazine featured him as one of Advertising's 100 Best and Brightest under 40. In 1987, Arthur became one of the founding partners of Cliff Freeman & Partners. His work has helped make brands famous and successful. The Little Caesars campaign he worked on for 10 years was hailed as one of the best of the Decade and in 2001, Staples, another long-standing client, was inducted into the AMA's Marketing Hall of Fame based on sales success and the body of work. Arthur has received hundreds of advertising awards, including One Show, Andy's, Cannes, Clios, two Mercury Grand prizes and his work has received best campaign of the year honors. The agency has received the 4A's John O'toole award for creativity 3 times and was runner up 4. Arthur has twice been featured as one of Adweek's All-Stars. Arthur has taught at The School of Visual Arts and has served on numerous awards boards. He is on the Board of Directors of the Radio Mercury Creative Fund and is a member of the Ad Council's Creative Review Board.
