Dan Ford

Executive Producer

Radke Film Group

Toronto

Dan Ford has been recognized as one of Canada’s leading commercial producers. Starting in the business just over 30 years ago, Dan has worked in every position, beginning his journey as a PA and finally ending up as an Executive Producer/Owner. This hands-on knowledge has proved invaluable in running and maintaining several of Canada’s top commercial production companies. One of the companies, Sons and Daughters, was recognized in 2014 as production company of the year at the Art Directors Awards, receiving the coveted Scarlet Letter Award. (http://theadcc.ca/awards/scarletletter/) In 2018, another company Dan was partnered in, Skin and Bones Film Co, was also recognized as Production company of the year at the Art Directors Awards, repeating what he and his partner had accomplished only a few years previously. Skin and Bones was honoured with a nod from the London International Advertising Awards that year too. (LIAA’s) The LIAA’s chose Skin and Bones as the best production company in North America, giving them the very first Blue statue ever awarded at their show. Dan’s awards, both personal and corporate, are extensive and varied. He was singled out for the ‘Janet Woods’ memorial award in 2013. That award is given to the one person in the Canadian advertising industry recognized for their contributions to the business as a whole. Dan was the first production person to ever receive this award. Other awards also include multiple Bessies, multiple Cannes Lions awards, multiple ADCC awards, multiple AICP Awards, multiple Shark awards, London Art Director’s Club, a Mayoral award for volunteering with disadvantaged youth, and my personal favourite, Brampton Minor Hockey Association manager of the year for his efforts managing his son’s minor hockey team for several years. His dedication to that team ending with an OMHA (provincial) championship in their final season.
