Rani Zarina Vaz - is the Executive Producer at Sound Industries, NYC. A native New Yorker and daughter of two concert violinists, Rani grew up backstage at Lincoln Center and in NYC’s famed recording studios. Her violin studies took her to Juilliard, performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Bargemusic, LI Philharmonic, Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, the Joffrey Ballet and in clubs throughout NYC. Formerly SVP, Director of Music at BBDO NY, Rani produced, music supervised and licensed music for the agency’s iconic, award-winning work for Pepsi, GE, Pedigree, Guinness, Grey Goose, Visa, Mt. Dew, HBO, FedEx and Starbucks, garnering the industry’s highest honors, including two Emmy Awards, Cannes Lions, inclusion in The Guinness Book of World Records and MoMA. Rani chaired the AMP Awards, the LIA Music Jury, and has been a juror for AICP, Clios, Shots and The One Show. A recipient of BBDO’s Founder’s Award, she served as a charter member of the agency’s Diversity Council and was inducted into the YWCA’s Academy of Women Leaders. Throughout her years in advertising, Rani has been passionate about mentoring young producers in order to nurture new talent and honor the incredible producers, creative directors, composers, editors and mixers she has been fortunate to learn from. Rani serves on the Board of Trustees of The School for Strings in NYC and is looking forward to playing her next concert this Spring.
