Young Guns

Young Guns is a portfolio competition awarding creative professionals 30 years and under, including designers, illustrators, entrepreneurs, and more!

2011: By the time Young Guns 9 rolled around, there was already a rich history and entire community of past winners ready to welcome in a new class. This allowed designer and YG5 winner Nassim Higson to call upon the Young Guns family to participate in his call for entries campaign. Jessica Hische (YG7), James Victore (YG1), Rodrigo Corral (YG7), Julia Hoffmann (YG4), Jennifer Daniel (YG8), Jayson Atienza (YG5), Sam Weber (YG7), Sarah Wilmer (YG6), Greg Brunkalla (YG6) and Jonathan Jackson (YG5) stepped up to take part in a very bruising campaign.

The YG9 ceremony and party unfolded on October 13, 2011.

Jesse Rieser

Photographer and Director
Independent
Los Angeles + Phoenix

Jesse’s exploration and celebration of the mundane and the humorous elements that often go overlooked in our day-to-day lives can be traced back to his midwestern upbringing in Springfield, Missouri. Now working between Los Angeles and the American Southwest, he continues his curious exploration of subtleties paired with his signature style of light and color.

His personal fine art work, editorial assignments, and advertising commissions have been celebrated by the Communication Arts Photography Annual (2X), PDN Photo Annual (7x), American Photography Annual (12x), Photolucida’s Critical Mass Top 50 (Top International Fine Art Project)(3x), 2011 Art Director’s Club Young Guns (Top 50 International Emerging Creative Under 30), Luezer’s Archive (200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide) recipient of the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward award in 2012 (Top Emerging FineArt Photographer in North America and U.K. Under 35) and a winning artist of the Klompching Gallery Fresh award and exhibition in 2020.

Rieser’s works have been exhibited internationally, a frequent guest University lecturer, and this will be his third time as a judge and panelist for the One Club & Art Director’s club Young Gun’s program- identifying the top 30 creatives under 30 working around the world.

He is represented by Anderson Hopkins in New York.
