The One Club, the world's foremost non-profit organization devoted to promoting creative excellence in the advertising industry, is bringing its award-winning Creative Boot Camp to the West Coast for the first time. This four-day program will take place January 10-13, 2012, at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, introducing Los Angeles area college and university students to the art of conceptualizing and building a campaign for a real client from the ground up. The One Club Creative Boot Camp offers students from multicultural backgrounds a hands-on experience with advertising and shows them the tools necessary to pursue a career in the field. Created for future advertising and design creatives and run by creatives currently working in the industry, the program received the prestigious Mosaic Award for Multiethnic Student Program from the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The upcoming program is sponsored by Deutsch New York, with Getty Images serving as Content Sponsor and Think, LA providing additional support.

"Building on the past two years successful Creative Boot Camps in New York and Atlanta, we are very excited to host the inaugural Boot Camp in Los Angeles," said Tiffany Edwards, education and diversity director at The One Club. "The goal of The One Club Boot Camp is to inspire minority students and introducing them to new opportunities in the world of advertising. What we often find though, is that the students in turn, inspire us with their spirit, energy and passion for creativity." On its primary mission to support the next generation of advertising and design creatives, The One Club's Education and Diversity Department offers several programs throughout the year including the College Competition, Creative Boot Camp, Annual Student Exhibition, seasonal Portfolio Reviews that connect premier industry creatives with aspiring students and young professionals for invaluable one-on-one critiques, and the much talked about Where Are All The Black People? career fair.
