One Show Entertainment Announces 2013 Finalists

The One Club announced today the finalists for the 5th Annual One Show Entertainment Awards, the most prestigious worldwide competition celebrating the year's best in branded entertainment. There were 89 finalists from 65 agencies and 15 different countries.

Pereira & O'Dell topped agencies with five finalists. Other agencies with multiple finalists include TBWA Chiat Day Los Angeles, Cheil Worldwide and McCann Erickson New York. Well-performing brands include Old Spice, Samsung and Volkswagen.

Some noteworthy pieces that illustrate this year’s trend of uplifting campaigns include the following: Dove’s “Real Beauty Sketches,” a short documentary that challenges the way women view themselves; Secret’s “Mean Stinks” branded content channel, which discourages girls from treating each other badly; and Banco Popular’s “Most Popular Song,” a classic salsa song rewritten to urge Puerto Rico’s citizens to find work.
