European and U.S. design firms take top honors in third annual presentation

New York, NY ? May 14, 2004 ? The fourth annual One Show Design honors were handed out here tonight as part of the larger One Show awards presentation for creative excellence in advertising. Since it?s inception in 2000, One Show Design has become an increasingly important part of the week-long One Show Festival, which also includes the presentation of One Show Interactive awards.

The three most awarded agencies included one of last year?s top winners, Sweden?s Happy Forsman & B?denfors (1 Gold for Package Design-Single and single Silver and Bonze Pencils for Direct Mail-Single). The other top winners included the United King-dom?s Campbell Doyle Dye (1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze, all for Collateral Design Posters-Single); and the New York and Frankfurt offices of Ogilvy & Mather (1 Silver and 1 Bronze, New York for Collateral Design-Posters Campaign and 1 Silver for Package Design-Single).

A total of 1,172 entries were submitted from 36 countries. Winners and finalists will be featured in the hard-bound One Show Annual, which will be available later this year. A complete list of 2004 One Show Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils can be found at www.oneclub.com.

?Most of the One Show Design winners are from countries outside the U.S., making One Show Design more of an important competition within the international design commu-nity, said Mary Warlick, Executive Director of The One Club, sponsors of One Show De-sign.

?Most of the top winners had the same thing in common?the risk-taking factor,? said Robynne Raye of Seattle-based Modern Dog Design and chair of the 2004 One Show Design jury. ?The best work was fresh, different and smart, not necessarily driven by a corporate client and put through a filter.?
